Much like the Hyundai Creta facelift 2018, there are many more cars slated for a launch soon. Major automakers like Toyota, Ford and Maruti Suzuki are waiting for their turn to get their cars get a taste of the road. However, newer brands, like Kia, also have quite a few cars lined up.
So here is a list of the top 10 cars to be launched in 2018.
Hyundai Creta Facelift
Hyundai had started the road testing of the 2018 Hyundai Creta long back. And considering the popularity of this SUV in India, the company would not be taking very long to get it on the road. The facelift will be having some designing refreshments, like a larger hexagonal grille and thicker chrome inserts.
Mechanically, the 2018 Hyundai Creta may get rid of the smaller 1.4-litre engine and use the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel only, just like the 2018 Hyundai Verna.
The Honda Vezel is expected to be launched in India by the mid of this year. The car made its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. It will have an urban SUV styling with a 5-seater layout, much like the Honda WR-V.
The Honda Vezel is expected to use the 1.5-litre i-VTEC and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engines under the hood. The Japanese version of the petrol car produces 132 bhp power and 155 Nm torque. However, the Indian model could be tuned down a little to catch a wider segment of people.
The Ford Freestyle could be the latest sensation in the budget crossover segment in India. It will be loaded with features to its brim, both inside out. And while speaking about the technical bits, it would more powerful than most of its competitors like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Honda WR-V.
It is expected to be launched in India by the first half of 2018.
The Toyota Yaris was the showstopper in the company’s pavilion at the 2018 Auto Expo. This sedan would be a tough nut to crack in the C-segment sedan space and would be giving the toughest competition to the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and the new Hyundai Verna. Once launched, it could even be the most attractively-designed passenger sedan in India.
Despite the small and boxy appearance, the Kia Picanto would be a premium car in the hatchback segment. It has a chunky front profile with huge bumper and grille, sweptback headlamps and red inserts in some of the aesthetical parts.
It will be competing against the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The Fiat Panda is a popular car in some of the biggest auto markets in the world. It has a tall-ish frame and a whole bunch of practical features. It is expected to be launched in India during the second half of the year and would compete against the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Hyundai Grand i10.
The Toyota Avanza could be launched as the budget-friendly version of the expensive Toyota Innova Crysta. The MPV would be getting some similar styling traits at the bigger sibling. However, it would be competing against the likes of the Honda BR-V and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which are affordable.
Renault Kwid MPV
Though there aren’t strong evidences, there are huge chances that the Renault Kwid MPV could have a similar styling as the standard Kwid mini hatch. It could have an extended rear end to accommodate the third row, just like the Datsun Go+. It would be a direct competitor of the Go+ and an affordable alternative to the Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy.
The Fiat Agro is built on the same platform as the Fiat Punto. It will be having sleeker looks and a lot of features on offer. On the mechanical side, the car will be getting smaller 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre engines along with a big and powerful 1.8-litre EtorQEvo motor.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been a very popular name in the sedan segment and has managed to easily overhaul the long-standing Honda City from the top spot. The upcoming Ciaz facelift would be getting good bit of upgrades. However, the mechanism could remain the same as the current generation model.
The list is extremely promising
The line-up of upcoming cars in India in 2018 looks a lot more exciting than what it looked like a couple of years back. So, for the people who are gearing up to buy a new car this year, it would be quite wise to wait for few more month and get hold of a newer car, just to get an extra bit of satisfaction.
